If you love the new, 189-horsepower, tech-laden Yamaha R1, and if you happen to live in the UK, this could be the chance of a lifetime. All you have to do is go to http://www.yamaha-motor.co.uk/, fill up a simple form and enter this competition where you can win a new R1.
You’ll have to visit an authorised Yamaha dealer (you can specify which one…) on the 19th of January 2007, when the 2007 R1 will be first shown in the UK. Winners will be chosen at 8:00 p.m. that evening, so just go to the website and read the instructions.
Along with the bike, you can also win an all expenses paid trip to Catalunya, for the 2007 Spanish MotoGP event. You could get to meet the riders and also ride the circuit on a fleet of specially prepared R1s. And there’s still more – you could also win a set of new Dainese-made Yamaha race leathers to match your new bike!

Speaking of Dainese, international figure-skating star Carolina Kostner has been chosen as the new face for Dainese’s latest advertising campaign. Carolina, who replaces Valentino Rossi as the face of Dainese, was the Italian flag-bearer at the opening ceremony for the Turin 2006 Olympic Games. We’re sure she’s a great athlete, but replacing Rossi…? So this is what happens when you lose the MotoGP world championship, eh Valentino…? We can’t wait for The Doctor to come back in 2007 and sock it to ’em all!
