Shelby and Rucker build 150bhp chopper

Okay, it won't corner, but at least it packs a 150bhp v-twin

Carroll Shelby International and Rucker Performance unveiled a custom cruiser at the recent Cincinnati V-Twin Expo. The bike was co-developed by the two companies and will be built by Rucker Performance. Shelby, known for his American muscle cars, has gone with his tried-and-tested formula – lots of horsepower combined with a lightweight chassis – resulting in a package which has the potential for eye-opening straight-line performance.

The Shelby-Rucker bike is fitted with an S&S X-Wedge fuel-injected v-twin that makes 150 horsepower. There’s an electric gear-shifting system, ceramic brake rotors, high-spec front forks, and what the company calls “air ride” suspension. Wheels are carbonfibre and aluminium body panels are used to keep the weight down.

Only 25 bikes will be made initially, with the possibility of another batch going into production towards the end of this year. Of course, owners will have endless customisation options in terms of paintjobs and accessories.
