Looking back at the 80s...

The BMW K1. What made BMW do this...? :-))

If you like looking at bikes that are from the 1980s, head over to the Oliepeil website here - they have a treat in store for you. There's the mighty Honda CBX1000, the Honda CX650 Turbo, the Benelli Sei 900 and the BMW K1. And speaking of the K1, when it was launched in 1989, the editors at Cycle World magazine said someone must have dropped 'rhino tranquiliser' into BMW's designers' drinks for them to have made such a bike. Of course, yellow painted crankcases don't look all that radical today, but twenty years ago... :-)

More from the 1980s:
Green, mean: The Kawasaki ZXR750
Memorable: The Honda RC30, and other Honda V4s
Yamaha 750s: Three of the best!
Remembering Wayne Rainey
Kevin Schwantz speaks to Faster and Faster!
Suzuki GSX-R750: The saga begins...
Six fix: The mighty Honda CBX1000
Blow hard: The Kawasaki GPZ750 Turbo
GP-rep for the street: The Yamaha RD500 LC
