After winning his home grand prix at the Philip Island circuit on Sunday, 2007 MotoGP world champ Casey Stoner went on to inaugurate Ducati City,’ a new Ducati Store in Melbourne. The 16th of October being Casey’s birthday (he’s 22 now…) Ducati also had a birthday gift ready for him – a brand new Hypermotard!
Says Casey, “Thanks so much to Ducati. I really appreciate this surprise gift even if you all make me become redder than the bike! Yesterday was an incredible day for me, with everyone under the podium singing the Australian national anthem. In retrospect, this season was perfect. After Qatar, I thought, ‘wow, we won a race!’ In the middle of the season, I thought, ‘wow, we can win the title!’ And yesterday, ‘wow, we won my home GP!’”
The young Aussie certainly has had an incredible MotoGP season. Will he go on to win the remaining two races this year? Well, even though we’re huge Rossi fans here at Faster and Faster, we’ve learnt – the hard way – not to bet against Mr Stoner! :-D
