Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 coming in 2009?

If Yamaha do indeed build a Super Tenere 1200, it might look like this...

Last year, Yamaha released the stylish, new XT660Z Tenere. Now, the rumour is that they will be showing the Super Tenere 1200 at the upcoming INTERMOT show in Germany next month, or at the EICMA in Italy, in November.
If the 2009 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 really does come out later this year, it will go up against bikes like the BMW R1200GS, KTM 990 Adventure, Moto Morini Granpasso, Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V and so on. The motorcycle adventure-tourer market seems to have taken off in a big way in recent years, and Yamaha would be looking to capitalize on that with the 1200 Tenere, which is likely to be fitted with a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 8-valve, DOHC parallel-twin that makes at least 100-120bhp.
And it’s not just Yamaha who may be planning an assault on the big adventure-tourer segment. Aprilia are said to be working on a 1200cc version of the Dorsoduro, while KTM are said to be working on an all-new Adventure 1190, which will replace the existing 990. And, of course, you already know where that 1190 engine is coming from…
