Loris Capirossi: ‘MotoGP is for girls!’

Loris Capirossi says IoM racers are real men, while MotoGP racers are girls...

Loris Capirossi, who’ll be visiting the Isle of Man for the TT races in June this year, says that road racing is for real men and MotoGP is only for girls. ‘Compared to what you guys do, I am really a girl. You are the real men. I am 100% not thinking about ever going road racing,’ quipped Capirex, referring to those who race at the Isle of Man. ‘I hope to be in the Isle of Man during TT week to help celebrate Suzuki's 50 years in road racing, but I will be going round in a car,’ he added.

Hmmm… so who do you think would win if Valentino Rossi and John McGuinness ever came face to face on a racetrack…? :-)

We'll never know, because Rossi is too much of a pussy to enter Isle of Man! I think Capirossi is 100% correct in his comment, and kudos to him for admitting the truth.

That's easy: on a GP track, McGuinness would be easy to beat.
On Man, Rossi would be easy to beat.

Personally I think that Darth Vader would totally rape Batman.... fer sure... oh wait. That is just as relevant and supported a statement as the previous 2.

Dear Andrew.
Please list examples of your lack of pussyness relative to a person who straddles 250hp wheeled motors around a racetrack against other such psychos for a living? Is isle of Man considerably more dangerous than a manicured MotoGP racetrack? Hell yea. Could McGuinness perhaps call Rossi a pussy if they where sitting at a pub having a drink? Maybe. You, however, stick to competitive croquet and to occasional street riding in the dry. Oh. and Rossi is contractually forbidden from racing the TT as are most of the other MotoGP riders. You gotta have very large stones and exceptional skills to race successfully at IOM and hats off to Capirossi for recognizing that. I think if Rossi raced the circuit a few times he would get pretty good at it. He took a joy ride around IOM with Agostini but it would be interesting to see him go all-out balls to the wall. We all know John McGuinness is a bona fide stud -

@Shrike: I think Rossi could get the terms of his contract changed if he *really* wanted to - it's not like he's never done that before...

As for lack of pussyness, I kind of have more respect for anyone riding in real, unpredicatable conditions on public roads than any racer going round and round the track.

As for me personally, I'm highly ranked in the sport of real warriors: competitive knitting. As such, I can call *anyone* a pussy.

It's not really a matter of who's a pussy. There is no way you can compare the Isle of Man with MotoGP. Both Rossi and McGuinness are great riders but I think that as just that - a rider. Rossi is the better man. But racing on the Isle of Man takes a lot more than just rider skills, a set og really big ones, and maybe a little bit of madness.

If John Mcguinness was as good a rider as Rossi, I'm sure that he would be racing the MotoGP series. Someone would for sure have seen those skills and hired him. I'm not trying to take anything away from him. He is a great rider and I enjoy the TT very much.

Frits, I think it's perfectly fair to compare. After all, IOM TT used to be a part of MotoGP circuit until 1976. Agostini is just one rider you might be familiar with who succesfully raced both IOM and other tracks that are now part of MotoGP... come to think of it, he chickened out too in the end. Pussy... :)

Rossi vs John McGuiness in IoM TT ? that will be fun i think... if uthey use a identical bike ; then John have a bigger chance to win since he race here since long time ago...

in IoM TT sometimes there is a "jump" some kind of action which never been seen in MotoGP...

and in MotoGP they use a gravel bed not a hedges or someone fences / brick wall... so need lots of "guts"...

i think maybe after he end his motogp career Rossi will try to race here too... you know him laa his a real entertainer

I know that Agostini raced the Isle of Man, so did one man that in my book overshadows them all, Mike Hailwood. He even went back and showed them how to do it again - I belive 14 years after he retired. But even one of britain's favourite son's - Barry Sheene - chickend out, he even lost a 125cc title, because he refused to go there again - if I remember correctly - that does not make him a pussy in my eyes. It's a matter of how much they are willing to risk.

I'm not trying to take anything away from John McGuinness, it takes alot to race on the Isle of Man.

I remember the late eighties, Kevin Schwantz wanted a go at the Isle of Man, but Suzuki wouldn't let him, instead he went and won the Macau Grand Prix, so Pussy is a mighty big word to use when talking about those guys.

TT racers are modern-day daredevils, but let's not kid ourselves. They're not crazy. They're among the most precise, disciplined, focused racers on the planet.
