MV Agusta’s brand-new middleweight sportsbike, the 675cc three-cylinder F3, was recently voted the ‘best bike’ at the 2010 EICMA Show. In a poll conducted by Motociclismo, where 12,000 people who attended the EICMA participated, a massive 38.5% voted for the MV F3, followed by 20.6% for the Ducati Diavel, 8.5% for the new Kawasaki ZX-10R, 5.2% for the Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200, 4.8% for the Triumph Tiger 800XC, 4.5% for the BMW K1600GT, 3.4% for the Moto Guzzi V7 Racer, 3.3% for the Yamaha Super Ténéré XT1200Z, 3.2% for the Honda Crossrunner, 3.0% for the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight, 2.5% for the Husqvarna TE449, 2.1% for the Suzuki GSR750 and 0.4% for the Derbi GPR 125.

If we had to choose the ‘best’ bike from the ones shown at this year’s EICMA in Milan, it would have to be the Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE, followed by the new ZX-10R. But had BMW done a naked K1600R instead of that GT, things might have been different...! :-)

what would make the zx10 a runner for best of show?

aesthetically challenged is an understatement. that back end is so damn wrong it defies belief. 10 years ago a chinese scooter would have been ripped for a back end like that.

and not sure how traction control can make a current bike better when viewed at a show?

the F3 is stunning. the perfect balance of design proportion and a bike that is just what its catogory defines. a light lithe, compact machine.

Motociclismo got it right.

the quite frankly bizzare husky is worth a mention for best of show. despite being a very confused and compromised animal. in fact the best of shouw would be deserved for the cbr 600f.

though the cbr moniker is not valid on a faired hornet, this is definately a step in the right direction for the japanese. a valid addition to their current range and a bike that is a lot more real world for a lot of europeans but without having to look like a budget commuter option.

not the most exciting bike, but perhaps the one that makes the most sense.

to each his own, i guess. i love the new zx-10 and the APRC SE Aprilia RSV4 is fantastic beyond belief. the MV F3 is just a scaled down replica of the F4 and that is already a 10 year old design. MV must now start making an effort to design an all new bike rather than keep using a design that is more than a decade old.
