Giacomo Agostini back on track at Assen for the 80th Dutch TT
This weekend, on the 26th of June, the legendary Assen circuit will witness the 80th edition of the Dutch TT. To celebrate the event, the Yamaha Classic Racing Team will be present on the track and will display various Yamaha race bikes from the past. And not just that – in homage to the Assen TT, Giacomo Agostini himself will ride his 1975 Yamaha YZR500 OW23 racebike on the circuit!
Agostini will ride the original OW23, which he rode to win his last 500cc motorcycle GP racing world championship in 1975. This is also the same machine that Ago rode to victory on at the Assen TT in 1975. The bike is being flown over from Japan by Yamaha, and for fans, this will be a rare opportunity to see and hear it being ridden by Agostini on track as he did 35 years ago.

2011 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R preview
When they first launched the ZX-10R Ninja back in 2004, it was lean, mean, fit and a bit scary. Over the years, however, it seems that Kawasaki lost a bit of steam with the ZX-10. The pace of development slowed down apparently and the competition – litre-class superbikes from Honda, Yamaha, Aprilia and BMW blasted past the Ninja.
However, Kawasaki might be back in the hunt with the 2011 ZX-10R, for which they recently released a preview sketch on the official Kawasaki Challenge website. With its sharp, edgy styling, carbonfibre bodywork and huge ram-air intake, the next-generation Ninja sure looks exciting. What would we like to see in the 2011 ZX-10R? A 200bhp inline-four, traction control, ABS, fully adjustable suspension and a properly sorted chassis.
Next year, will the Ninja give the BMW S1000RR a run for its money? We damn well hope so!
...and this first video of the 2011 Ninja ZX-10R being tested at the Autopolis circuit provides a glimpse of the excitement that could be in store for Kawasaki fans next year!
