2011 British MotoGP: High-res pics from Silverstone

The Rossi-Ducati Italian dream-team seems to be in trouble. While Casey Stoner, Marco Simoncelli and Jorge Lorenzo will start the race from the front row of the grid, Valentino Rossi has qualified in 13th position and will start the race from 5th row on the grid. Other Ducati riders like Karel Abraham and Nicky Hayden have qualified in sixth and seventh places respectively, so we wonder what’s with The Doctor’s performance? Anyway, here are some pics from practise and qualifying. We’ll add more pics here from the race, tomorrow…

Pretty boring race, if we're honest. Half the field crashed out, Stoner finished in first place, followed by Dovizioso in second and Colin 'The Texas Tornado' Edwards in third. Rossi ended up in sixth place. Wonder when The Doctor will start winning races again. Soon, we hope...

Please remember, Valentino Rossi has won SEVEN premier-class world championships, while Casey Stoner has won all of one. Rossi is the only man to have won world championships two-stroke 500s, four-stroke 990s and four-stroke 800s. He is without any question the greatest rider of our times and Faster and Faster can't be blamed for being such dedicated fans of The Doctor... :)

It's all well and good that F&F loves Rossi, but I would love to see some Honda riders featured! Rossi is undoubtedly fantastic, as is Lorenzo; so is Hayden and Spies, but Stoner, Pedrosa, Dovi, even Simoncelli and Crutchlow, they're great riders, and they seem to be rarely featured on this blog. I love this blog, but add some diversity, brother!

Stoner is a great rider but he also has the best bike in this year's MotoGP. After the Yamaha dominance that Rossi enabled by developing the M1, Honda have come to play with a bike that every team rider and satellite team rider is performing on, way above last year. That still leaves Rossi as the biggest achiever, the best rider of modern time (probably all time) and Stoner and Lorenzo will never touch him because of the variety of his rides, his wins and his world championships. If you don't admire Rossi you're an idiot. F&F as a Rossi Fan Club.. go for it, we all should be.

There is no doubt Rossi is a talented rider, the problem is Ducati's GP bike, it is crap, can't you all see that? Stoner was the only one who could ride it well. The Italians so wanted the Italian dream team, Rossi + Ducati. I knew it would be a disaster. It is just bad marketing for Ducati.
