To celebrate Yamaha's 50th year in motorcycle GP racing, Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies will be running this special red-and-white livery at the 2011 Assen TT
Yamaha will be celebrating their 50th year in motorcycle grand prix racing during this year’s Assen TT, for which they have commissioned a special red-and-white livery for their YZR-M1 bikes.
‘Assen is my favourite track, where I've won in all categories. This year it is very special coming here because we celebrate Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary! We are in second position in the championship and we come here looking to put pressure on the leader,’ says Jorge Lorenzo. ‘It’s a track I love and the Yamaha M1 seems to really work well here. It’s a fast track which I really enjoy – I have so many memories of watching the racing on TV here as a kid, it’s a privilege to race here now. It’s also going to be really cool to go out on the track in the special livery in front of all the fans,’ adds Ben’s Pies.
