Ducati will unveil the Diavel AMG Special Edition at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month. The bike will feature AMG’s signature 5-spoke wheels, carbonfibre radiator grills with aluminium trim, AMG-style sport exhaust system with engraved end-caps and AMG-style horizontally ribbed seat upholstered in Alcantara. ‘The model’s incredible attention to performance detail also ensures that every engine has its Desmodromic cam-timing set by hand and authenticated with the name of the engine technician engraved on the left-side engine casing. Further underlining the model’s exclusivity, each motorcycle will have a numbered plaque on the fuel tank,’ says a press release from Ducati.

Husqvarna have released more pics and details of its new streetbikes, the Nuda 900 and Nuda 900R. ‘These exhilarating new models are the first to combine the history and race pedigree of Husqvarna, with the technological innovation and engineering prowess of the BMW Group, and the flair of Italian styling,’ says a press release from the company.

Husqvarna say the Nuda 900s can’t be shoehorned into any specific category. Instead, the company says, the Nuda 900s can be whatever you want them to be. Delivered as a crossover between a supermoto and a naked streetfigter, the Nuda 900 gets a black paintjob, while the Nuda 900R gets Husqvarna’s a more exuberant red and white competition colours.

2012 Smart ebike revealed

If electric bikes like this are the future, the future is going to be dull...

A division of Daimler AG, Smart makes some of the coolest small cars on the planet – we quite love their ForTwo cabriolet. And now, Smart are doing the, er..., smart thing and getting into producing bikes. The German company will have the Smart ebike on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month and will go into production early next year. The bike will be launched in Europe and in the US in 2012, followed by other regions later.

‘The Smart ebike is a true Smart – but on two wheels. It is an extremely well designed bicycle that is sure to draw admiring glances in the city. It's also really practical and easy to ride. Anyone can zip through town on it with or without exerting themselves – depending on their fitness level and as their mood takes them. And it's even easier to find a parking space than with the Smart ForTwo,’ says Smart CEO, Dr Annette Winkler.

Motorcycling flights of fancy: The bikes we want in 2012!

What are the machines that ignite our moto-fantasies? Er, these...

Once in a while, we suppose it’s all right to indulge your motorcycle-related flights of fancy. Right now, we’re bored with the way things are. Nothing new or particularly exciting seems to be happening – there’ve hardly been any new bike launches in the last few weeks, and motorcycle manufacturers seem to have slipped into a state of somnolence. So, to stir things up a bit, we’ve come up with a list of six bikes that we’d like to see on the streets sometime soon. Forget logic and commonsense for a bit and just think about how fun these machines would be, if they were to exist...
