2013 MV Agusta Rivale 800 unveiled

The new MV Agusta Rivale 800 sure looks sharp!

MV Agusta have released the first official pics and some details of its new supermotard-style bike, the Rivale 800, which is powered by the same liquid-cooled three-cylinder 798cc engine that also powers the Brutale 800. As with the new F4, the Rivale 800 gets the full MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) package, which controls the bike’s ride-by-wire throttle, selectable engine mapping, ABS and traction control etc. The Rivale 800 weighs 174kg dry and with its hybrid frame – a combination of steel tube trellis and aluminum alloy plate construction – and high-spec suspension and braking components, it’s likely to be an absolute blast to ride. Look at a mid-2013 launch and a 10,990-euro price tag.

Incidentally, the Rivale also won the title of ‘Moto piĆ¹ bella del salone’ (‘most beautiful bike of the show’) at this year's EICMA. The poll for the most beautiful bike of the show was conducted by Motociclismo, and with votes coming in from more than 15,000 show visitors, the MV Rivale came out on top with 35.5% votes, followed by the Ducati Hypermotard in second place (22.9% votes) and BMW R1200GS (15.5% votes). “For us, it is a further recognition and confirmation of how much energy and resources MV Agusta is dedicating to the constant development of new products. After winning in 2010 with the unique jewel created by my father, the F3 675, it is an incredible satisfaction to win yet again with a completely new machine. This victory is the greatest gift we could have,’ said Giovanni Castiglioni, President & CEO of MV Agusta.

And here are some high-resolution pics of the MV Agusta Rivale
