In memory of the indomitable F1 champ, Brazilian Ayrton Senna, the Autodromo di Imola will host the Ayrton Senna Tribute 1994/2014 from May 1 to 4 this year. Ducati, on invitation from the Imola circuit, will also participate and will showcase the Ducati 916 Senna and the more recent 1199 Panigale S Senna.

Senna, who loved fast motorcycles, had visited the Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale a few weeks before the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, held at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola, Italy. Ducati later went on to produce the 916 Senna in limited numbers. Earlier this year, the Italian company also announced the 1199 Panigale S Senna, which will only be sold in Brazil and only 161 units of which will be produced.

We have to admit we don't really follow F1 these days, but Ayrton Senna does have a special place in our hearts - the man really was a great champion. In fact, we recently watched Senna, the Asif Kapadia-directed documentary, and loved it. You can download that documentary from ExtraTorrent.
