The 2015 Honda VFR800X Crossdresser Crossrunner is as refined, reliable and nondescript as ever...

Honda have given a mild makeover to their “premium adventure sports tourer,” the VFR800X Crossrunner, with the 2015-spec machine getting a retuned V4 that provides more mid-range torque and improved top-end power delivery. In addition, the styling has been tweaked a bit, ergonomics have been improved, the suspension gets more travel, and wheels and brakes are new. Also, ABS, full LED lights, 5-stage heated grips, self-cancelling indicators and a height-adjustable seat are now all standard on the VFR800X Crossrunner.

With 105bhp and 75Nm from its 782cc V4, and a kerb weight figure of 242kg, the Honda Crossrunner 800 definitely isn’t a rocket, but for those looking for slick, refined adventure-touring bike, which is smooth, reliable, comfortable and reasonably fast, the Crossrunner just might be your thing. Available factory accessories include a quickshifter, integrated panniers, top box, rear carrier, front and side engine bars, fog lights and a few other bits and bobs. Not too bad, if a bit anonymous…
